Ultimately, echo existance relies on *acceptance* by a human. The >backbone.na stuff looks restricted to North America only(?). How do echoes ge >"created" outside North America? Is it just by a friendly email to a ZEC, REC > or NEC, and then only if one feels like it? Correct. :) I did have a number of echoes listed at one time and the process was not easy to complete. Actually it is easy.. once you know what you need to do. I saw your posts in those echoes (ELIST and Z1_BACKBONE), looks like you have just about completed the process.. :) > I also noticed that the only entries in the NL that actually use the ZEC REC >NEC flags is the Z2 segment! No one in Z1 is using those. Hence, it is hard > for the average sysop to know where to find a (full) feed. There are not many (if any) *EC in the net these days. There isn't really a need for them since nodes can connect directly to nodes anywhere in the world. I would install an NEC in net153 anyway, just to have the eyes and ears on things. I'll do that if I can find a willing candidate. >> I don't recall who started the area originally. There are a lot of >> echolist archives at filegate.net that go back a long way. It'd take a good day or two of digging and I'm not sure if there is anything in there to dig for. > ../|ug --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-4* Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (1:153/757) SEEN-BY: 153/250 757 201/119 203/0 221/0 1 6 360 261/38 280/464 5003 290/10 SEEN-BY: 292/854 633/267 280 712/620 848 886 770/1 @PATH: 153/757 221/6 1 280/464 712/848 633/267 |
