Got the T-shirt, too. :) Thankfully, I now have a WP "My Book Live"
network drive, with the Acronics backup program that does nightly
backups on the 2 desktops and the 2 laptops. If for some reason, the
backups are delayed in starting (an hour apart start time on each),
when the entire LAN is brought back up, the entire process is done
at once. The backups start at 1am for the BBS computer, then 2am, 3am,
and 4am, for the other desktop, and the 2 laptops...with Windblows
Update ...at 5am.
I keep 5 days worth of backups, in case one has gone bad. So far,
though...I haven't had to use them.
The one file I haven't been able to find was my cellphone contact
list. I had to do a "hard reset" on it recently, so I've had to
rebuild the contact list, and re-acquire all the applications I had
on it. All the apps I get for the phone (an LG Android...on the
Straight Talk Unlimited $45 a month plan) are free...except for
RadarScope, which was a one time $10 purchase from the Play Store.
However, that RadarScope has more than paid for itself during recent
storms here. And, as for the Straight Talk plan, I get unlimited
talk to the contiguous 48 states, plus unlimited internet and text
messages. I don't do that much texting, but do perform some "surfing"
on the phone, especially when I need a quick weather data update, and
I'm away from the apartment.

... Backups? We don't need no steenking backups.
