Dave accepted an invitation to the Tidy Bowl by saying:
DN> I don't know what the hell ML thought he was going to get away with
DN> last year, putting Szasbo in at center.
What in the heck are you talking about? Carr WASN'T trying to get away with
anything, Dave. He was playing the hand he was dealt with after injuries. The
plan was to use Ellison but that went haywire quite quickly and then he was
forced to use just about anything that walked at center because he didn't
have cap flexibility (his own fault) to pick up someone decent (He was lucky
that he was able to get Brickowski and then he got hurt).
->> You certainly have overlooked a lot of facts in order to make

DN> The one fact that jumps out at me is 16 wins. I don't see the return of
DN> Dino Radja adding 24 wins to this team, *if* he returns in good playing
 DN> form.
Who in the hell says that HIS return would mean 24 wins (There's only one
player in the NBA right now that's worth 20 wins and his name is Michael
Jordan)? Again, YOU are overlooking a lot of facts, especially when you
OBVIOUSLY want to make it look like *I* said that he was going to make that
much of a difference (and I didn't). I've pointed out the fact that SEVERAL
people were lost last year due to injuries and they were all part of the 33
wins the year before (A fact that you continue to ignore). Radja wasn't worth
18 wins (the drop from 33 to 15) - at best he was worth 6 or 7. The 18 wins
dropped came from losing Radja, Ellison, Barros, Brickowski and Minor. A
return of ALL THOSE PLAYERS means a hell of a lot to Boston and THAT is the
basis of why I think Boston can't help but return to 30+ wins even BEFORE the
draft (Radja's gone, however, his replacements from Philly should make up for
what he gave the Celtics and they'll be less of a question mark as far as
health).
