Ah, the ad hominem argument. "Don't listen to what he says because I
don't like him."

Oh, well, it can't be too bad when among the worst thing your enemies can
say about you is that you're polite and knowledgeable.

The question wasn't whether there would be more or less pedophiles among
women than men. The question was whether a woman bishop would have put a
known pedophile in a position where they would  have access to children.
The incidence of pedophilia among women is irrelevent to this question.

That's an interesting comment. First of all, I'm not aware of any such
church teaching regarding a man's helpless with regards to women. Secondly,
I see no reason why having women in charge would improve much of anything.
To conclude that women would do a better job than men in the same jobs is
to discriminate against men based on their gender. It's quite simply a
sexist attitude.

Given that sexist remark, it's certainly understandable that you would feel
the need to apologize to your male friends.
