Qedit can only edit files which will fit into available "below
the 640K line" memory. Most people have somewhere in the region
of 550K - 610K of memory available when sitting at the DOS
prompt. After loading Qedit (around 50K for the version I use)
they will have about 500K - 560K free meaning they can edit
files totalling about that size. If you need to work on larger
files there are a couple of ways to do so without abandoning
Semware's products. The registered version of Qedit comes with a
companion utility called "chunker" (I think) which will split a
file into parts of your size choice. You can use it to split
large files for use with Qedit then reconnect the parts later.
Alternatively Semware's commercial product TSE (The Semware
Editor) will edit files of any size limited only by available
disk space ;-)
