>AW RIGHT!! High-Five Kathy!
I'm not quite sure why the high-five, Tom. Don't be misled--I'm STILL
concerned about this, and it certainly has done nothing to make ME less
paranoid about my own birds here at home. I am taking what I feel is a
calculated risk with this baby's life--if it comes back to bite me
later, and the baby becomes ill, I'll be MUCH worse than I am now!
IF/when this woman wants to come down to visit "her baby" while it's
still here, she will be taking the same precautions I request of my
friend with the polyoma-positive babies. She will be asked to shower and
put on freshly clean clothes IMMEDIATELY before leaving her house.
She'll have to remove her shoes upon entering here. She'll have to wash
thoroughly with the Oxyfresh soap, and I will probably have her put on
an apron just to keep the baby off her clothing.
And once she's handled the baby, it will live in a separate brooder from
anyone else it may be living with up until that point. (Because of THIS,
I kind of hope she doesn't decide to visit it before it's weaned--I'd
prefer for the baby to grow up with the 'tiels and cherry-heads for
socialization). The lady lives over an hour's drive away, so I'm not
sure she'll be visiting the baby anyway.
