It's pretty neat in several areas of appeal.
Novelty, ruggedness and the challenge of making them truly useful.

To this end I aim to as a bit of a hardware hacker to see if I can't upgrade
the side lit ( presumed for now) display by opening up and replacing 
( again presumed) side lit fluorescents with pulse width modulated high current
high brightness white LEDS.

These have 60 Meg of RAM.
Theoretically Slack 13.1 base system would fly but  I aim to dual boot Windows
with Damn Small Linux.

The vendor alluded to the fact his supplier may have yet more of them.
