yes... it was enacted where fishing was one of the main businesses... if
folk were to shout underwater, the fish would all be scared off and the
day's catch would not exist...

there's a bunch of 'em still on the books about horses, too...

i also recently heard of something in the laws somewhere that when someone
got out of jail, they were to be given clothes, some money and a shotgun...
some guys were getting out and decided to push the point... since they were
felons, the state gave them money in equivilent to what a shotgun would
cost and then removed or ammended that law...
