One thing I like about OS X is that most Mac applications are self-contained, which has a couple of advantages. One is that there is no "DLL Hell" like there is in Windows and Linux. Also, software management is a lot easier than on Windows or Linux. Typically, to install software you just copy it to the Applications folder; to un-install it, simply delete it. Some software does have an installer, but the majority of Mac software doesn't (at least from what I've observed). I've owned a couple Macs, briefly, but I've never really found the Mac platform compelling enough to switch over from Windows/Linux. I like to be able to customize my PC more than Macs allow, and not having to pay Apple lots of money to fix little problems.
