Yes, it isn't a question of *if* you will end up with lost data. It is *when*. I learned that fairly early after switching from Apple systems to PC based in the mid/late 80s. I kept putting off buying a tape backup drive back then. Spent endless hours modding my WWIV BBS back then and had a failure. I ordered the tape backup unit the next day, but that was one day too late. Ever since, I have been very backup crazy. I take multiple images of my main systems and copy the data to multiple places. I can go back over a month in time on all restores. So much so, that I just ordered an external 8 drive array just for backups. It will be a huge 10TB JBOD just for backups. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.50* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 101 620 848 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
