I had a macro ad noe point to do this...now I can't find a copy of it.
The gist of the solution was to use a regular expression to search for an
ANSI sequence and replace it with nothing.
Maybe some kind soul still has a copy of the macro.  I'll see if I can come
up with something to do the trick for you.
