JG>the developer or builder? It seems like a legal issue to me...IMHO...
No injuries as it was a casual, long drawn out falling. It just reached
a point whereas it had to be demolished. It fell back in 1985 also and I
did sue the builder at that time...and won. Unfortunately I couldn't sue
him twice, and it is a legal issue of sorts but I can't say too much
about it at this time.
JG>I have a '72 model Johnson 50hp that's been sitting on the back of my boat

JG>it will run again soon. Would you advise tearing it down before running?
JG>Not even sure it will turn over, the rings are probably stuck to the

Eight years is a long time. I see no reason for tearing it down unless
the powerhead (Pistons, rings, etc) are seized solid. If it's slightly
frozen, you can free it with a socket and breaker bar on the flywheel
nut, or use a spanner wrench such as a auto mechanic uses to turn a auto
flywheel when installing a clutch, etc.
After seeing that it will turn over, and you have ignition, I highly
recommend that you have the carburetors rebuilt before attempting to
start it. The lubrication is derived from the oil/fuel mixture...and
those carbs will absolutely be fouled bad. If you did manage to get it
running without rebuilding the carbs, I would guarantee that you will,
without question, damage the powerhead.
