If you have standard com ports, don't try and go above 14.4K for
an external. It will probably work, but you can't guarantee
reliable transfers.
If you are buying an internal, it won't matter.
Internal modems have a com port built in complete with the new
high speed uart chips. Internals are also cheaper.
