I just got Shaw (our local cable provider) to install digital boxes over here - with those installed, the old VCR and DVD-Recorder continue to be usable with a trick... the digital box needs to be tuned into the channel to be recorded, with the old boxes programmed to record on Channel 3 - regardless of the actual channel needed. That is a clear decrease in functionality, as it's no longer possible to use them to record different shows on different channels unless someone is here to manually change the channel on the digital box as needed. Luckily, a hard drive-based PVR was included (no charge) in the deal, so that gets around that limitation. --- Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/2* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
