On the JG> Android's, you don't have that problem. I was so very much tempted to go for the Archos32. Size-wise and capacity-wise it would be comparable to the iPad Touch 8GB. And it had a whole pile of features that the basic iPad Touch couldn't match. It's been about month since I won my bid on ebay for a Touch 2nd Gen 8GB. Ergonomically, it's nicely thought out. The GUI is quite slick. But it bugs me (more and more) that I must be tied to iTunes to manage my content. On the other hand, it's also convenient because the off-site desktop pcs that I can use to fetch content via DSL are using iTunes. However, I don't like NOT being able to simply delete content directly on the iPod Touch. I have to connect to a pc and use iTunes. JG> I'm suprised more folks don't prefer Androids JG> on the bulletin boards.. The Android is a wonderful concept. The AppsLIB is quite extensive with free apps. JG> ...Technically, I still ahve several mac's in the garage, just JG> not working at this time... What models are they? I am currently working on a 11-yr old PPC (350MHz) desktop. Either the PS fan or case-fan is a bit too squeaky to my liking, and recently learned that the max hdd size supported is 128GB. I bought a nice 160GB hdd to replace the original 10GB and felt insulted that this PPC is limited to detecting only 128GB. JG> Either way, the quickest way to JG> get me to avoid purchasing a product is put on the front that JG> it comes with iTunes. I would concur. JG> I have to admit, the things mentioned here brings up some JG> thoughts about the iPhone. I may be once again glad I chose JG> to go with the Back Flip. I like the keyboard integration on the Back Flip. I was getting crab-fingers tapping on the Touch even doing just simple texting. I was looking into considering a BT keyboard, but I decided to forgo the expense although the solution intrigues me. --- Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (Windows/20100228)* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
