| subject: | WiFi 30% slower than wired |
Jim King -> Alan Zisman said.. JK> Every time someone uses the microwave oven in the kitchen all JK> the wireless connections in the house drop. The laptop, the JK> Wii and the Roku. I will be hard-wiring the Wii and Roku very JK> soon. Not sure what to do with the laptop. How far away is the MW from these devices? There shouldn't be a significant mw influence unless your oven is extremely leaky (which is a health hazard unto itself). I am 15ft at the closest to my home 1Watt mw oven. It has no effect on my wifi. Conversely, the cheap (low-power) mw oven at work is 4ft away from a computer work-bench. Every time the mv is in use, all wifi activity stops. --- Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (Windows/20100228)* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
