-= Pete Replied to William Brackenridge about: Modem Speed? =-

G'day William

 WB> I have a 386 with an ordinary Serial Port. Currently, I have a

WB> anyone tell me the maximum speed of modem which would work with
 WB> my computer.

If by an 'ordinary serial port' you mean a 16450 or 8250 UART then you
should be able to run a 28k8 or 33k6 modem without problems as long as
you don't run a multitasker (win/Desqview/OS2 etc)

     Pete.
