Does anyone here have any experience in setting up a server using
the IBM Internet Connection Server.
I am trying to set up a site that emulates the functionality of my
existing Maximus/2 BBS with a filebase of 1.3Gb on hard disk, 1 online
CD-ROM, 200 odd Fido echos and a selection of online games.
The BBS system is a 486DX4/75 with 16mb, 1.6 Gb HDD, a 33.6k internal
modem running under Warp Connect v3 at FP26.
Development is being done on a P75 with 32mb, 850mb HDD 28.8 modem
running under Warp v4.
The two systems are networked using NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
So far I have got the ICS v4.1.1 running ok and I can serve the part
of the filebase that is on HD to connections over the LAN. This has
been achieved by using Colin Wheat's BBS2WEB prog to build a set of
pages for the filebase. I can serve the CD-ROM files if I manually
edit the generated pages for the CD areas.
Specific areas that I need help with are:
1. Configuring a dial-in connection
2. Serving echo and netmail
3. Setting up online games
4. Permanent Inet connection (eventually if cost can be justified)
5. All the other things I've forgotten and/or don't know about.
6. How to do it all without any money... 8-)
