   I have an item that was FLOWN to the surface of the Moon during
during the flight of Apollo 12. It is a SOLID GOLD lapel pin with
post, 17mm dia, that was FLOWN to the surface of the Moon and spent
31 hours in the Moon's Ocean of Storms region aboard the Apollo 12
Lunar Lander INTREPID. This pin has been documented in the publicat-
ion "Chariots For Apollo" which was wrote by Charles Pellegrino and
Joshua Stoff. It is on page 181 of the hardback version.
    The face of the pin depicts the heavily cratered surface of the
Moon with an American flag, and the reverse side has in the design
the engraved words "FLOWN TO THE MOON BY AN INTREPID CREW" "APOLLO 12"
"CONRAD GORDON BEAN" "NOVEMBER 1969". There is also a pair of Navy
wings on the back side under the post.
