I still have mixed emotions about his okaying the use of the A-bomb.  I
don't know what I would have done in that situation and am glad that's one
decision I didn't have to make.  Part of me says he did the right thing,
while the other part isn't so sure.  It's difficult to make decisions like
that which affect the world.  On the one hand, you don't want to kill
civilians and on the other, you don't want to lose anymore American lives. 
My guess is that Truman remembered Pearl Harbor and that was the deciding
factor.
