Wrong. If you view it from a hole in the ground, your view of the sky is
only as big as the opening of the hole. Viewing it from below sea level as
in many places in the deserts of California, your view is restricted by
the surrounding mountains and hills. Having less area than Texas to begin
with and more area below sea level, that leaves Texas with an average of
more sky than California.

That never crossed my mind, but now that you mention it;

Actually, a recent April, 29, 2009 report from CNN showed that L.A. is
still the leading polluted city in the country. Houston comes in 5th after
4 more California cities. Also note that L.A. is more than twice and
nearer three times as polluted as Houston. Los Angeles must be the most
disgusting place in the entire country to be...

City State Average ozone level (2005-2006)

Los Angeles CA 138.8
Bakersfield CA 110.5
Visalia-Porterville CA 101.2
Fresno-Madera CA 62.7
Houston TX 53.7
Sacramento CA 49.7
Dallas TX 38.8
Charlotte NC 37.0
Phoenix AZ 36.5
El Centro CA 32.8

Also note that there are 6 California cities in the top ten dirtiest
cities in the US, compared to only two in Texas.

Los Angeles, which has a lethal combination of heavy traffic, sunshine and
heat, had 195 days last year in which the ozone levels were high enough to
be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

On another 55 days, it was unhealthy for anyone and on 11 days, the ozone
in the air was judged as very unhealthy.

It usually pays to have your facts straight before attempting to show me
up. This is like talking to Tom Walker who is all mouth with no substance
to back him up. Easy pickins...
