The first of my three Dynalink 33.6 modems had this problem it used to
freeze for 20 seconds or so every 5-30 minutes.  So I took it back and got
it replaced for one that wouldn't upload using zmodem and would only upload
slowly using xmodem (it downloaded just fine).  So I took that one back and
got a third modem which seems to sort of work although it refuses to
connect to some bbs's that used to work fine with my old 14400 and some
others it connects to then almost imediately disconnects.
p.s. Why can't Askey tell me why Fallback is always disabled on every
Dynalink 33.6 k modem I have seen.  Check with ATI6 after any connection
