That could be troublesome.  They do inhabit oposite ends of the Earth, don't they?

In any case, under all the feathers & fat they are pretty scrawny. 
They are birds afterall.  Lightweight & muscular, built for *burst*
flying even underwater.  Seals are a better payoff for the effort.  Mmm...
