Howdy! Yesterday when I started up this XP pc, after I Logged On to the limited account I watched a blue screen saying "loading your settings" for ten or twelve minutes. Usually after I don't see the desktop showing up on the monitor after that long of a time, I just hold the power button and restart the computer again. This time I didn't restart the pc, yesterday I held the Alt and Tab Keys down and saw two icons. One of them said something about "restarting(?) network connection" and after selecting it and releasing the Alt Tab Keys I saw the blue screen again, but next I pressed the Enter Key and the desktop appeared on the screen. I was surprized that doing that worked. That phrase about the network connection puzzles me since my practice is to first turn on the DSL Modem and wait for the LEDs to show it has finished its start up procedure. After turning on the Router I will wait ten minutes for it and the DSL Modem to finish their handshaking and then I press the power button on this XP computer and Log On when I see the Log On screen appear. I wait this long for the Router/DSL Modem before turning on the computer because in the past if I hadn't waited - when the Limited Account desktop shows up, the LAN icon in the Tray will show "not connected". Patience........... ...
