| subject: | Watching VIMEO Videos |
Hi! Ed, In a message to All you wrote: EV> A while back I read some Help sections on VIMEOs web pages EV> to find out why every time I try to watch a video made by EV> someone who posts their video at VIMEO I see a Black Screen EV> with a message on it saying the computer I'm using can't EV> watch the video. I get that sometimes with another VirtualBox PC running an old FF. I think it's a mismatch with their presentation, between html5/flash capabilities of FF. No great dramas... EV> I use a 32-bit Windows XP SP3 pc with 3 GB RAM. My vBox is an old Puppy Linux running an old FF, with 512Mb. :) EV> I allow VIMEO options that NoScript shows in it's drop down EV> box. Well done you, Ed. :) EV> Besides telling me to get a Modern Day Computer, what do I EV> need to do? Thanks! I generally copy the video title (highlight + [Ctrl]-C) and go to something I know will work, e.g. EwwToob (YT) and paste that title in the search box. Even if that exact video isn't posted there as well, it will find close matches for you. Oh, and I rarely sit there & watch videos on-line (unless they're only about 1-2 mins); I usually dowmload them, copy 'em to a USB and then watch 'em later on my HD TV. OTOH, if I don't get anything remotely close (on YT) then the video probably wasn't worth watching in the first place. :) Cheers, Paul. --- Paul's Win98SE VirtualBox* Origin: Quinn's Post - Maryborough, Queensland, OZ (3:640/384) SEEN-BY: 203/0 633/267 280 640/384 1384 690/682 712/620 848 770/1 @PATH: 640/384 712/848 633/267 |
