I don't think that's exactly what Clark said.  Clark was referring to 
accomplishments while in the military, not just the fact of military
service; and simply noted that McCain's accomplishment was limited
to flying Navy fighter-bombers and getting shot down by the enemy.

In point of fact, I would add that McCain's accomplishments include exemplary
behavior while a prisoner, something Clark neglected to mention - at least
in the clip of his comments that I heard on the radio.

Note that pilots are just airplane drivers; just like car, bus or truck drivers but
in three dimensions instead of two.  They are not necessarily the best and 
brightest.

I didn't think much of Clark when he was in uniform and my opinion hasn't
changed since he got out of it.
