| subject: | Crude Price Bubble Burst? |
Replying to a message of JIM HOLSONBACK to BOB ACKLEY: BA>> Seems to me that the price of a barrel of crude could drop all the BA>> way down to a dime and the retail price of gasoline/diesel wouldn't BA>> drop much below $2/gallon. JH> It's depressing to read statements like that. The level of cynicism JH> and negativity I see these days coming from the Fidoliberals is just JH> amazing. I find it amusing that you right wingers label me a liberal because I criticize the present administration. I rarely have anything good to say about Democrooks too; and I didn't have much if anything good to say about Bush minor's immediate predecessor during that administration, but you guys ignore that. FYI I will most likely sit out the 2008 election; the first time for that since 1964, I will not vote for any of the four candidates presently running, I'd love to be able to vote against *all* of them. In any case, I've found that if one always assumes and expects the worst, especially about and from government at any level, one is seldom surprised - and since the worst is expected whatever surprise there is will be pleasant. Cynic? Certainly. And proud of it, been one for decades. Curmudgeon? Sure, you can throw that one in too. Remember, politicians got their reputation the old-fashioned way. They earned it. (Apologies to the late John Houseman - for those unaware it's from an old Smith-Barney commercial - hmmm, very old, I haven't watched television regularly for over 25 years now). Mark Twain had their number a century ago, he just didn't go far enough. In the US today, there's no such thing as an honest politician, and hasn't been for the better part of half a century. People are (finally) starting to notice, thus the popularity numbers. I was, BTW, absolutely *astounded* at the recent USSC decision WRT Sodom-on-the- Potomac's gun control laws. I thought that was going to be a done deal for the gun grabbers (because in order to control the population government must first disarm it, and absolute control of the population is the demonstrable goal of both the left and right wings in this country). And, of course, it was *pleasant* astonishment. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 236/150 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
