Yes, the bastion can talk to both systems and as such could attack both
systems. But that's not his concern. He has /specifically/ asked for a
way to configure something, a Raspberry Pi in this case, as a way point
between two systems that can't otherwise communicate with each other.

I have seen and supported this multiple-isolated-networks many times.
It doesn't matter /why/ he wants to do it. The fact of the matter is
that he /wants/ to do it.
It is possible to do what he wants to do.
There is no point in passing judgement on him for what he is choosing to do.
