I thought I would add my two cents worth to the conversation here and
make the thread grow some more :)
I run Wildcat! Interactive Netserver v6.4 (WINS, or just simply Wildcat!
for short -- I'm over my WINS vs Wildcat! naming debate) with Platinum
Xpress v3.0pr5 and Internet Rex 2.31 (1000 node server license) here on
a Dell 1U server under Windows Server 2008 Enterprise (non-R2 version).
I run WINServer basically because I've been a Wildcat! "fanboy" for
quite a number of years and no matter what else I run I always go back
to Wildcat!.
One of the features I enjoy about Wildcat! is wcBASIC :) It's a MUCH
easier to learn scripting language than say, Baja or MPL, because it's
most like BASIC (and it's also really nice because I've taken a regular
BASIC program meant to run locally and with only a couple lines of
additional code have been able to make those programs run within
Wildcat! itself as a "door".
I also have the wcBASIC Plus Pack which pretty much allows me to have
direct access to the Wildcat! databases and text functions, so basically
I can "rewrite" Wildcat! to my own specs if need be :)
