The "mixer" we have now is really a Fostex 260 4-track recorder.  Not the
best, I know, but it's all that we have.  That's why I'm looking forward to
the Mackie.  The 1402-VLZ, in combination with a pair of dbx PB-48 patch
bays, should give us enough to last for a good while.
