Hi Clint,

I hate to rain on your parade, but any WinModem will only work
properly in Windows. The problem is that a lot of the hardware
functions needed to run in DOS have been implemented in Windows
*.DLL type files. The result is that there is no proper set up for
DOS and any setups done for DOS will honk up the modem for the next
run under Windows unless the computer is powered down and restarted.

I don't know how to tell you this, but your best bet is to buy a new
modem that is of the Win/DOS type.

An acquaintance of mine bought a WinModem and had exactly the same
problem that you are experiencing. His solution was to finally
trash his Winmodem and to install a Win/DOS unit. Sorry to give you
such bad news.

I hope that this helps.
