Seeing as how I got in free as a benefit of where I work, it absolutely
is!  If you can't join for free at work or through your credit union
(Ask!) then you can pay a fee to join.  Once you are a member you get
discounts on purchases at the Disney Store and some stores at WDW and
the Disneyland/Disneyland Hotel complex, as well as some restaurants.
You also get discounts at Disney's catalog stores.  It also qualifies
you for Delta Airlines discounts and National Interrent car rental
discounts.  Plus you get reduced prices on WDW and DL park tickets and
reduced prices at WDW resorts and the Disneyland Hotel during some
times of the year.  If you have to pay to join the club then you get
a subscription to Disney Magazine included in the fee you pay.
The Magic Kingdom Club also has its own travel center which members
can call for help with trip planning.
Yes, I'd say it is really worth it!
