| subject: | Crude Price Bubble Burst? |
Replying to a message of TOM WALKER to BOB ACKLEY: BA>> Seems to me that the price of a barrel of crude could drop all the BA>> way down a dime and the retail price of gasoline/diesel wouldn't BA>> drop much below $2/gallon. TW> Hey I rembember when the Price of Oil was $10 per Barrel and Gasoline TW> was 25 Cents. So let me assure you that IF we could strike enough oil TW> to get oil down i nthe $10 range gas would be far cheaper then $2.00 I don't think the retail price of petroleum products is as tied to the price of crude as it used to be. The oil companies have discovered they can charge whatever they want and the product still sells. I just discovered that there's a line of new windmills being installed about 20 miles north of me. The foundations for each tower contain 140 yards of concrete. The problem with wind power is that it isn't going to solve the OIL problem, most big power plants run on coal, not oil. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 236/150 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
