BG>No, but linking into the USR_Modems echo will help, I'd imagine.

Done that but they don't appear too helpful if you mention that you have a
Dynalink. Maybe I'll use the guise of a friend with a sportster V34+ internal,
and see if I get any feedback.

BG> GSTN (General Switch Telephone Network) Clear Down:

BG> The connection was non-ARQ and DTR was dropped from one side
BG> of the connection, or the DISC frame was corrupted due to noise.

BG>Sounds to me like the original connect was made without error correction,
BG>something which disabling the V.42 detect phase is supposed
BG>to prevent.

Well I've tried about thirty different init strings without success. I tried
disabling V42 detect phase (S15=128) disabled 3429 symbol rate (S33=32), tried
with and without compression. Dynalink support haven't a clue why in one case I
cannot get a connect other than at 14400 fixed and on a BBS a connect then drop
carrier with the disconnect message GSTN cleardown. As I mentioned previously,
Dynalink don't even know what the hell GSTN is.

Maybe if someone could post a list of init strings in order of what to try, eg
try this first and if it doesnt work then this one and so on.

Cheers
Mike
