Duhh.. where was my brain? I should know that! We had Cockatoos that we put
a metal mail box on for a nestbox!! Well thanks for reminding me.. I'd of
eventually came up with something.. grin..
 > the normal

 > make it TRULY
And here's another little tip we found out the hard way.. turn the mailbox
upside down.. that way the eggs can't be accidently damaged by laying on the
ridged bottom of the mailbox.. Umbrellas wouldn't leave any pine shavings in
the nest box.. and it just so happened her first egg ended up straddling a
raised ridge and breaking.. you could clearly see the indentation of the
floor in it, so I know she didn't break it on purpose.. one week from
hatching!!! :((( We ended up selling them to a lady who raised lots of
Cockatoos... she was thrilled with them, and they did produce for her, course
she also incubates her eggs... :)
 > chew-proof (in case Brandy is a plastic eater too),
Yes, we did find a piece of plastic in his ventriculis, the last surgery.
The one where the vet called and wanted to put him to sleep on the operating
table the day before Thanksgiving last year!
 > then use a metal
 > mailbox, and when you cut the hole, be sure to fold
Oh, I can have the hubby do that.. he's a mechanic.. so he's quite handy..
grin.. Thanks again for reminding me.. Amethyst
