Mark --> I guess if there were several big pharmaceutical
companies located in the State of Utah, the politicans would
be protective of them. Conflict of interest laws apparently
do not apply to members of Congress. Members can own common
stock in companies where legislation in their committee could
affect a particular industry.
But my real point is that BIG companies in a particular industry
have now discovered that they can use [or try to use] an
INTERNATIONAL TREATY
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^
to force SMALL companies in an opposition industry out of
business.
Just think of the implications in the future where all
industries could use an INTERNATIONAL TREATY to try to get
their way.
History Fact: In the 1950s during the Eisenhower era,
there was a movement in Congress to pass a constitutional
amendment which said that if the Congress approves a treaty
which contains a provision which goes AGAINST any provision
in the Constitution, then that treaty provision is null and
void. The Eisenhower administration opposed it and the
effort failed.
