SP> Bob, I think I would detach a baby and pot it into a separate 3-4"
SP> pot, then keep that pot on a deck, patio, step or somewhere outside
SP> where it gets sun for part of the day. Water it occasionally. Then I'd
SP> stick the rest in the ground where they can get a fair bit of sun.
SP> Water them in, then leave them. Natural rainfall should keep them
SP> going except under extremely dry conditions (which aren't usually a
SP> problem next to the lake.)
SP>
SP> At the first warning of frost, hike the potted new plant inside, wash
SP> the pot and plant off, and put in your sunniest window. Don't worry if
SP> it seems too large for its pot; aloes do fine potbound. Leave the
SP> rest to perish. Saves you a lot of work wondering what to do with all
SP> the monsters come fall, and you have the potted one as backup.

Hi Sandra
Thanks for the reply. I have already planted
them in the garden and so far they seem OK. I did not save any for home
and will do just that in a couple of days. The garden is aprox 30 miles
inland from the city of Thunder Bay. It is not unheard of to have a
frost the third week in June at that location so I had better bring
some to town. Thanks again Sandra.
regards
Bud
