While listening to Paul Edwards Pete heard:tobruk live stats

G'day Paul

PC> 1st one is in module 'faddr.c' and is 'dir.h' does not exist

PC> however this just seems to be a wrapper for direct.h anyway so

PC> can be overcome by me just creating a dir.h that just has

 PC> '#include ' in it or defining _QC25_ and then #ifdef

PC> _QC25_ , i think the first option is the better one.

PE> In Tobruk 0.31 I have actually enhanced trav.c to make it work

PE> with MSC 6.0. This will probably solve that problem (otherwise,

PE> the fallback is to make sure MSDOS is not defined when compiling

 PE> trav).

Sounds good, I'll FREQ it and see how it goes.

PC> 2nd one is warnings about 'segment lost in conversion' on lines

 PC> with things like '(void)faddr;', '(void)mailproc;' and

PC> 'unused(repo);' on them although i'm compiling in the large

 PC> memory model.

PE> I didn't encounter these warnings with MSC 6.0. However, now

PE> that everything is isolated into the one "unused" macro, it is a

PE> simple matter of changing that macro if you are still getting

 PE> the warnings.

Ok i'll look into it, in an earlier msg you will get before this one i

mentioned i undefined MSDOS which the compiler was defining

automatically and all but the 'segment lost' warnings disappeared.

As MSC 6.0 and QC 2.5 both came out around the same time and AFAIK QC

2.5 uses the MSC 6.0 startup code you would think they would share the

same header files with the only difference being that MSC 6 was an

optimising compiler, this is apparently not so.

PE> BTW, can you tell me where you got the MSGAPI from? There is no

 PE> MSC library with MSGAPI38.

I FREQ'd it from you, i grabbed MSGAPI0.ZIP as it's description stated

it was the 16 bit OS/2 and DOS lib. The lib docs state that

MC_MAPIL.LIB included in the archive was the large memory MSC lib,

should i have used MSGAPI38 instead, if so i'll grab it.

PE> Would you like to create a makefile and do any changes to

PE> MSGAPI38 to make it work with MSC? Then see if there are any

PE> mods required to Tobruk 0.31 to make it work dandy with MSC.

Ok i'll grab the lib and give it a try.
