-> Hmmmm... I am leaning towards USR these days. I have just about
-> enough experimentation and expense with 5 different Supras in 4
-> years.
SK> You know, i have been watching this echo very closely, and now that
SK> I have been reading it for awhile, yes, If i was to get a 28.8 or
SK> 33.6 it most likely would be a USR. How is the ZOOM 28.8?
I have no idea. Except that another sysop I know is suddenly developed a
problem with his ZOOM; it fails to negotiate v34 with my Supra. The best we
can get is VFC at 9600/arq or less. It could just be a simple problem
solvable by a ROM upgrade on his Zoom. We played with many different
configurations between his Zoom and my v34 Supra.
Other than that, my 28.8 connects fine at v34 speeds with USR Couriers and
Sportsters.
I really like the outward design of the Supra. I have fallen in love with
the bright and practical digital display. But the consumer reports on USR's
greater capability to operate under poor line conditions .vs. and Supra,
makes me lean towards a USR to support a 2nd BBS line.
