At one time, and some time ago, there was a problem introduced by one of the
fixpacks. It only occurred when one opened a new DOS session, but the result
was that the date was changed.
The problem file was VCMOS.SYS, and the solution was to restore the copy of
the older version of the file from the directory where you archived when
installing the fixpack.
I suspect that at this point you may have deleted the archive directory (most
people do), so you'll probably have to search your original diskettes/CDROM
for the file and use UNPACK to get the older older version of the file.
Failing that, you can get a copy from anyone you know running OS/2.
