A few years ago there was an excellent product that never made it. It could
detect a break-in with sensors, ir, or other types, and dial up any number in
the world and inform you by code if fire, break-in, flood whatever. It was
actually used successfully in real life situations. Break-in at 3:01Am, by
3:02Am the owner's beeper was ringing, he called back on the silent line, and
activated the listening device, heard strange sounds, and called 911 by
3:04AM, the crooks were caught within seconds by a passing patrol car. The
total time between break-in and arrest was less than 15 minutes! It was
called the Phone Sensor, and sold by Gulf Western. Alas, can't find them
anymore.
I think such a device incorporated with the boat, home, and car would be
neat. Via cellular connection it and beeper notification, the owner could get
back to his car, or boat immediately upon intrusion, via a neighbor, or
personally. Probably nabthe cluprit within a few seconds of intrusion.
