Nope.  They've admitted in the show that the Klingons have changed, that they 
didn't have ridges 100 years ago (but they did 1000 years ago).  They haven't 
said *why* or *how* they changed, but they have abandoned Gene's retcon 
stance that"Klingons always looked that way."
