You can do it using house wiring, but that too would also contravene NMMA
standards for boat wiring. First and foremost, remember to use the same size,
colour and type of wire for any modifications to your boat. Second, to
properly start and stop your motor remotely, you'll need three wires. Key hot
(usually purple), start (yellow with a red stripe) and power (red). Of course
that means another ignition switch or two toggle switches (one spring loaded,
one not). Of course if you go with the toggles, you'll have negated the use
for a key to start your boat making it easier to steal. ;-)

See colour codes above. I don't recommend doing this yourself unless you feel
comfortable around this sort of thing. Modifications to your boat's wiring
system can reduce you're reliability out on the water unless they're done
properly.
