On 08-10-08, BOB KLAHN said to TIM RICHARDSON: BK>> When you have done anywhere near as much then you might have BK>> room to talk. Until then, what you have posted is contemptable. JM>>I have room. TR> How long was John Kerry `in country' again? I forgot. BK>Kerry did two tours. The first on a ship off shore. Near as I can find....it was about a 4 month deployment aboard the Gridley. The Gridley went to several places between February of 1968, and June of that year. Not all of that time was spent in the Vietman area such that anyone could count that time toward `in country' time. The Gridley sailed to several places during that cruise that were nowhere near Vietnam. BK>The second about three or four months, So.......Kerry actually spent less than the full one year that was the normal tour of the combat zone. BK>in which he won the Silver Star and BK>the Bronze star, with V. Thats nice. He also (supposedly) tossed them away. Not to mention giving the enemy a propaganda victory by joining the likes of Jane Fonda (that `is' John Kerry in that photo with Fonda during a Vietnam War protest, is it not?) and her ilk in protests. And did Kerry not actually go to Paris and `talk' to the Viet Cong? Kerry also told a congressional committee that American troops were "murdering" 200,000 Vietnamese every year. BK>I recall you were in combat, did you win either of those or a BK>higher decoration? No........people in my division weren't allowed to write themselves up for medals. But...I have rooom to talk also. I saw a lot more combat than Kerry did....spent a lot more time `in country' than Kerry did, and didn't treat with the enemy in Paris, or lie to Congress. BK>BTW, Kerry had significantly more time in combat than Bob Dole BK>did. And far less time than I did. --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 18/200 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
