Near as I can find....it was about a 4 month deployment aboard the Gridley.
The Gridley went to several places between February of 1968, and June of that
year. Not all of that time was spent in the Vietman area such that anyone
could count that time toward `in country' time. The Gridley sailed to several
places during that cruise that were nowhere near Vietnam.

So.......Kerry actually spent less than the full one year that was the normal
tour of the combat zone.

Thats nice. He also (supposedly) tossed them away. Not to mention giving the
enemy a propaganda victory by joining the likes of Jane Fonda (that `is' John
Kerry in that photo with Fonda during a Vietnam War protest, is it not?) and
her ilk in protests. And did Kerry not actually go to Paris and `talk' to the
Viet Cong?


Kerry also told a congressional committee that American troops were
"murdering" 200,000 Vietnamese every year.

No........people in my division weren't allowed to write themselves up for
medals.


But...I have rooom to talk also. I saw a lot more combat than Kerry
did....spent a lot more time `in country' than Kerry did, and didn't treat
with the enemy in Paris, or lie to Congress.

And far less time than I did.
