Replying to a message of Ross Cassell to Bob Klahn: BK>> Now, tell us how you retired from the Army as a Major, with 12 BK>> years documented service. After all, that is a factual matter BK>> you should be able to back up with no room for doubt. RC> What proof do you have to show that Stan served only 12 years? RC> After all I served 0, you served 4 years and a certain someone only 65 RC> days, all uncomparable to the 12 years you attribute to Stan. RC> Stan commanded a Army Attack Helicopter, you fixed radios. RC> Even if your attempted slam against Stan is remotely true, how is your RC> service superior, wasnt he an officer Mister Airman? RC> You should be calling him Sir! Not even if he was one of my customers. I quit calling people sir when I retired. Just remember that in the military you are required to salute officers' insignia, not necessarily the person wearing it. Which reminds me of a funny that happened about 40 years ago. A major commanding one of our subordinate units was visiting our operations building. On Okinawa the uniform of the day was khakis (1505s at the time, today it would be dark blue trousers with a light blue collar shirt), in short, 'informal business attire.' Anyhow this guy shows up in full dress blues (NOBODY wears dress blues on a hot summer day unless you *have* to), complete with all insignia and his rows of hero ribbons, service cap with all the bird shit (the AF prefers to think of it as clouds, and on senior officers' hats clouds and lightning) on the visor; everything, that is, *except* his major's leaves. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 18/200 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
