I'm not sure that Dean has any contact with Wayne at this point in time. 
All I know concerning the situation was the network software was not to be
released as open source on the original agreement.

One thing I didn't know is that development has been made on replacement
WWIV network software by using reverse engineering.  :)  

The product is called NetX and is being actively worked on again today.
