It is a bit confusing to see the diferance between 'Specifications' and ¨'Ratings'

It IS what I am talking about. Using a 28800 BPS carrier and V42Bis Data
¨Compression it is possable to acheive 115200 BPS thruput. If you don't
¨beleive me either look in your Modem Manual OR better still TRY IT. You
will ¨need a pure repeating TEXT file to test it on though. When I got my
first ¨9600 BPS Modem I did test it and I acheived 35000 BPS thruput. So as
you ¨can see the DCE Speed is NOT the main facter. V42Bis & DTE speed
were the ¨main factors.
