BK>>> When you have done anywhere near as much then you might have
BK>>> room to talk. Until then, what you have posted is contemptable.

JM>>>I have room.

TR>> How long was John Kerry `in country' again? I forgot.

BK>>Kerry did two tours. The first on a ship off shore.

 TR> Near as I can find....it was about a 4 month deployment
TR> aboard the Gridley. The Gridley went to several places
TR> between February of 1968, and June of that year. Not all of
TR> that time was spent in the Vietman area such that anyone
TR> could count that time toward `in country' time. The Gridley

From what I have read, no one on ship off shore counted any time
 as in country.

TR> sailed to several places during that cruise that were
 TR> nowhere near Vietnam.

 That's what the Navy does.

BK>>The second about three or four months,

TR> So.......Kerry actually spent less than the full one year
TR> that was the normal tour of the combat zone.

Yep. Lot of people did. A salesman was trying to sell me
something, can't recall what, some 30 years ago. We drifted off
to general talk, and he showed his artifical leg. He told me he
lost the lower part of his leg do to an accident his first day
assigned to a patrol boat in Vietnam.

BK>>in which he won the Silver Star and
BK>>the Bronze star, with V.

TR> Thats nice. He also (supposedly) tossed them away. Not to

 Irrelevant.

TR> mention giving the enemy a propaganda victory by joining
TR> the likes of Jane Fonda (that `is' John Kerry in that photo
TR> with Fonda during a Vietnam War protest, is it not?) and

If you mean the one on the platform, no, that was a fake.

TR> her ilk in protests. And did Kerry not actually go to Paris
TR> and `talk' to the Viet Cong?

No, he talked to the North Vietnamese delegation.

TR> Kerry also told a congressional committee that American
TR> troops were "murdering" 200,000 Vietnamese every year.

He did? When? I have his statement before the Senate Committee,
 I don't recall that.

BK>>I recall you were in combat, did you win either of those or a
BK>>higher decoration?

TR> No........people in my division weren't allowed to write
 TR> themselves up for medals.

That's nice, neither were people in Kerry's unit. That's
probably why his commanding officer wrote up his citations. You
remember, the one who later joined the smearboat liars.

TR> But...I have rooom to talk also. I saw a lot more combat
TR> than Kerry did....spent a lot more time `in country' than
TR> Kerry did, and didn't treat with the enemy in Paris, or lie
 TR> to Congress.

Well, if Kerry's records were faked yours may be also. OTOH, He
didn't "treat" with the enemy, since he would have to have
 something to offer.

And no one has yet shown that he lied to congress. Maybe that's
why the republican keep quoting an edited version of what he
said, cause it makes the truth look like a lie.

BK>>BTW, Kerry had significantly more time in combat than Bob Dole
BK>>did.

TR> And far less time than I did.

Dole is widely considered a hero. Are you?
