I agree.
But obviously the attempts at communication failed.
Many people wrote netmails and echomails, but no reaction.
So it seems that the sysop is away or busy.
So as a temporary measure until the sysop changes his faulty configuration, I
would think it is a good idea to halt his feed.
When he is back, he will see the netmails, correct his config, and after that
his feed could resume.
My 2 cents.
