I know this thread is months old, but I didn't see anyone
that had corrected your statement already...

Sure there is. The NTVDM (Virtual DOS Machine) is included
in every 32-bit version of Windows NT, including 7, 8, and 10.

Terminate 5.0 runs fine here under Windows 10, using NetSerial
to allow it to work with telnet instead of dialup.

From your description, I suspect you were attempting to
install it under a 64-bit version of Windows.
